Almunecar is a great place for cycling with superb roads, with a mixture of decent climbs, some rolling terrain and flat sections too. Weather during the early part of May was good, not too hot or cold (but sunscreen is still a must). Sam at SportaBike+ planned some great routes and his team made the whole experience an enjoyable one. The hotel was fantastic, with great facilities, a buffet lunch and breakfast catering for all. I have been lucky to have been on 5 trips with SportaBike+ and all have been well organised and each one offers something different. This was my second trip with Sporta Bikes/Women's escape group. Annecy was absolutely beautiful, definitely my favourite place to cycle. The whole place is very accommodating towards cyclist, the drivers were also very chilled compared to the UK! For me these trips are always a little adventure outside my comfort zone, but the group leaders are always very supportive & encouraging. I rented a bike rather than take my bike on the plane, all of this was very easy, as sorted by sports bikes & I usually end up with a better bike than mine at home. Which was very much appreciated on those hills. Beware you may end up buying a new bike on your return! At first glance the accommodation at Annecy was fairly basic, however it was actually perfect for our needs, as it had direct access to the bike path & perfectly situated for a swim in the lake & an early evening glass ( or two) of rose' before supper.

Couldn't have asked for a better location or better group leader (thanks Jane ) lots of bike skills to be learnt and constructive feedback given or better company. Lake Annecy was beautiful. We got up went swimming every morning, ate breakfast then went biking. There was enough challenging routes for us that allowed us to see the amazing scenery without making us struggle too much on the bike. We're also changed our minds and do we then changed the route when we got tired! All our wishes were granted from ice for the rose wine to shopping at Lidl! I drove myself there which was easy, and the accommodation was good. And when then breakfast wasn't really quite what we wanted Jane assisted with improving it. We didn't stay in Annecy itself which was a good choice, where we were was more rural and quiet but with enough places to eat in the evening. We were met initially with a bottle of water and some fruit which was great. Riding round the lake was amazing. Have to say I didn't want to come home.

Good hotel (although bar shut on Sunday evening), food pretty good. Sporta excellent, Sam and Ken did a great job looking after us. Bike was ok but had obviously done a fair few Km. Cycling out of the city was a little hairy but once out of the city, It was quiet. Signature climb to Rocacoba was disappointing as you only got any sort of view from the very top. Good holiday though.

We had a great time. Lovely hotel close to city centre. Fantastic cycling and very well looked after by the Sporta staff
